6th Grade Beginning Band
The 6th grade band is avaible to all 6th grade students at Haymon-Morris Middle School. This is a beginning band made up of 6th grade students that have little to no exsperence playing a musical instrument. Students in this band play a wide range of instruments including: Flute, Oboe, Bassoon, Clarinet, Bass Clarinet, Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Baritone, Tuba, and Percussion. The 6th grade band performs 4 concerts each year (Christmas concert, spring concert, and for both elementary schools 5th graders. The 6th grade band meets during the school day.
Haymon-Morris Symphonic Band
The Symphonic band is made up of all 8th grade band members at Haymon-Morris Middle School and selected 7th graders. The symonic band performs 4 concerts a year (fall concert, Christmas concert, Large Group Performance Evaluation and spring concert). The symphonic band meets during the school day and has some after school rehearsals.
7th Grade Band
The 7th grade band is made up of 7th grade band members at Haymon-Morris Middle School. The 7th grade band members play all of the instruments the 6h grade band members play plus the Baritone Saxophone. The 7th grade band performs 3 concerts a year (fall concert, Christmas concert, and spring concert). The 7th grade band meets during the school day.
Haymon-Morris Jazz Band
The Haymon-Morris Jazz Band consists of selected 7th and 8th graders that have excelled on their instrument. The Jazz Band consist of Alto Saxophones, Tenor Saxophones, Baritone Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Baritone, Tuba, Guitar, Bass Guitar, and Drum Set. The Jazz Band meets every day during our ELT time.
H-MMS Percussion Ensemble
The H-MMS Percussion Ensemble is a group that is made up of 6-8 percussionist. The percussion Ensemble meets every Thursday to rehears. The percussion ensemble is under the direction of Mr. Joseph Hasty
